Empowerment and Community: Aldea’s First Year
Seeing my dream become a reality in the past year has been thrilling. Meeting our first program participants, our Aldeanas, and hearing their stories, their dreams, and their struggles, reminds us why we created Aldea in the first place and inspires us to keep going. Today I’ll share what we’ve accomplished so far this year as an organization and some of our plans for the future.

“Mindfulness” might sound like something that’s only for yogis or people with a lot of free time and resources. However, it’s actually something that is accessible to anyone who is willing to try it and an important part of the program at Aldea.

We know that for so many Spanish-speaking women in Austin, the solutions to their most pressing problems will be as complex and unique as they are.

In addition, gaslighters take advantage of immigrant women’s fear and social/financial instability.
